The Queen of hills
Shimla is the capital and the largest city of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Shimla is also known as The Queen of hills. After independence, the city became the capital of Punjab and was later made the capital of Himachal Pradesh in 1954. The provincial design and houses of worship, the sanctuaries and the indigenous habitat of the city draw in voyagers. Attractions incorporate the Emissary Hotel, the Christ Church, the Jakhoo Temple, the Shopping centre Street, and the Edge, which together structure the downtown area. The Kalka–Shimla Railway line built by the British, Shimla Kalka railway line is also UNESCO World Heritage Site This is also a major tourist attraction. Shimla is a popular destination for newly married couples. Most of the area occupied by present-day Shimla was dense forest during the 18th century. The area was called ‘Shimla’, named after a Hindu goddess, Shyamala Devi, an incarnation of Kali.
