The journey starts from the centre of Kasol. After a detailed briefing from your guides, you will begin the 8-kilometre trek through enchanting pine forests. The trail initially presents a steep ascent, frequently used by locals, before reaching the picturesque Grahan Village. As you advance, the terrain gradually becomes rockier. You will be welcomed with dinner and settle in for your first night.

Climbing north from the camping ground at Grahan, you follow the path often used by villagers to reach Min Thatch. The trail traverses dense forests and picturesque landscapes, offering a refreshing respite. As you walk, you will witness panoramic views of Min Thatch, Nagaru, and Sar Top adorning the mountain to your right.

Today involves a challenging trek from Min Thatch to Nagaru. Passing through pastoral woods, the slope falls steeply to the valley below, and any snow on the trail may be slippery. Despite the rugged terrain, each step brings you closer to the Nagaru campsite. Upon reaching the camp, your efforts are rewarded with awe-inspiring sunset views of the Parvati Valley mountains and the twinkling lights of Manikaran town far below.

Make an early start at 4:00 AM, as the climb is steep through the snow. Reaching the summit of Sar Pass (a usually frozen lake), you will be spellbound by the mesmerising panorama of the elevated Tosh Valley peaks. After enjoying the stunning views, you get to experience the famous, fun, and harmless snow slide (with proper precautions) that takes you about a kilometre down to a gentler slope. A final hour of trekking across enchanting water streams brings you to your evening camp.

Night: Stay at the dome camp in Biskeri Thatch
Trek Dist: 9 km trek + 6 km drive | Time: 3 to 4 hours | Altitude: 7,709 ft
Enjoy the sublime morning views of the pine forests and lovely grasslands in Biskeri. The trek concludes with a steep hike down a fenced plot of land, crossing dense forests and streams. You will reach the twin villages of Pulga and Tulga. From Pulga, cross a bridge spanning the Parvati River to reach Barshaini. A 6-kilometre drive transports you back to Kasol base camp, marking the end of your adventure.

The Sar Pass Trek is a 48-kilometer crossover trail located in the Parvati Valley of Himachal Pradesh. Reaching a maximum altitude of 13,850 feet (4,221 meters), the route bridges Kasol and Barshaini. Designed for individuals with baseline cardiovascular fitness, this 5-day expedition transitions from dense rhododendron forests to high-altitude snowfields, offering direct views of the Pir Panjal and Great Himalayan ranges.
