Your day begins at 4 AM with a visit to Tiger Hill for a stunning sunrise view of Mt. Kanchenjunga. After breakfast, enjoy a UNESCO World Heritage toy train ride, including a stop at Ghum Station and Batasia Loop, offering panoramic views of Darjeeling and the Himalayas. Visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tenzing Rock, and the Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park (closed on Thursdays). Take a ropeway ride over tea plantations with views of snow-capped peaks, then explore the Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Darjeeling.

After breakfast in Darjeeling, you will be transferred to Pelling. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and take a half-day sightseeing tour. Visit India’s highest Skywalk with views of the Kanchenjunga Ranges and the 137-foot Chenrezig statue. Explore the Rabdentse Ruins to learn about Sikkim's history and seek blessings at the Pemayangtse Monastery. Return to your hotel in Pelling for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, board your transfer to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. En route, stop at Ravangla to visit Buddha Park, home to the 130-ft Shakyamuni Buddha Statue and scenic gardens with views of the Himalayas. Continue the journey to Gangtok, passing through picturesque roads with views of the Teesta River. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, enjoy a full-day excursion around Gangtok. Visit the scenic Tsomgo Lake, followed by the Baba Mandir, which is dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh. Optionally, hire a taxi to visit Nathula Pass, an Indo-China border post (subject to availability and additional cost). Return to Gangtok for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, transfer to Kalimpong, an offbeat hill station in West Bengal. En route, enjoy scenic views along the Teesta River. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and begin sightseeing. Visit the Zang Dhok Palri Monastery, followed by the Jelepla viewpoint, for views of the Teesta, Relli, and Reang rivers. Conclude the day with a visit to Deolo Hill, the highest point in Kalimpong. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Kalimpong has a dreamlike quality that attracts tourists from all walks of life. It is famous for its panoramic views of the snow-covered Kanchenjunga, the world’s third-highest peak, traditional villages, museums, vibrant flower nurseries, Buddhist monasteries, parks, mission schools, and Tibetan crafts. It has a rich history since it was once under the Bhutanese monarchs.
The capital city, Gangtok, is 5,500 feet above sea level and rich in natural and cultural treasures. Several viewpoints in and around the town provide magnificent views of Mt. Kangchenjunga. Its attractions include waterfalls, beautifully wooded areas, picturesque scenery, and a lively local culture.
Pelling is a gem in Sikkim. Its old monasteries, cascading waterfalls, shimmering lakes, and serene, scenic beauty attract visitors.

At approximately 1300 meters, Kalimpong is notably lower than Pelling's 1800 meters. However, the ascent to Kalimpong felt much steeper due to the more significant altitude gain over a shorter distance. The town itself resembles many other hill and mountain retreats found across India.
On your way to Darjeeling, you'll travel through Singtam, Ranipool, and Teesta Bazaar. Taking Route 2 via Kalimpong, you'll pass through the picturesque town of Kalimpong before continuing to Darjeeling. The journey spans about 115 kilometres and usually takes 5 to 6 hours.
Darjeeling has a cooler climate than Kalimpong but is relatively more crowded. Both are known for their beautiful landscapes, Buddhist temples, churches, and Tibetan handicrafts. However, Darjeeling is more prominent for its tea, cultural heritage, and iconic toy train.

Kalimpong emerged as a significant hub for trade with Tibet, mainly because of its proximity to the Jelepla Pass, a route into Central Tibet. The British government decided to develop Kalimpong as an alternative hill station to Darjeeling, increasing its importance in the region.
