By 9:00 AM, you'll start with a short, uphill trek from the Barshaini bus stop to the charming Kalga village, situated at 8,200 ft. From Kalga, the main trail to Bun-Buni Pass begins. The path winds through a deep forest rich with pine and rhododendron trees. As locals and shepherds frequently use this trail, it is well-paved and offers a gentle, easy ascent. After a steady climb of 4-5 hours, you will reach the stunning meadows of Bun-Buni top, which offer spectacular views of the surrounding mountain peaks. The trail features a mix of terrains, beginning with a steep downhill section that levels out into peaceful meadows. This path offers an opportunity to meet and interact with the Gaddis, the traditional shepherd tribe of Himachal Pradesh, and to gain insight into their lifestyle. The route continues with a downhill stretch, crosses a glacier, and is followed by a final uphill trek to reach Kheerganga. Upon arrival, you'll be rewarded with amazing views of the Parvati Valley and the chance to relax in the famous natural hot water springs. This site holds mythological importance, so visitors are advised to maintain its sanctity and cleanliness. Dist: 12 km | Time: 4 to 5 hr | Altitude: 2898 m to 1898 m Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the Kheerganga campsite. After packing up, you will begin the final leg of your journey: the descent back to Barshaini. The trek concludes upon your arrival at the Barshaini Dam, leaving you with a bag full of memories. The Bun Buni Pass trek is a hidden gem in the Parvati Valley, offering a journey through pristine, high-altitude meadows used by local Gaddi shepherds, culminating in the rewarding springs of Kheerganga.

The ideal time for the Bun Buni Pass trek is during the pre-monsoon (April to June) and post-monsoon (September to November) seasons.
This trek is considered moderate. While the trail from Kalga to Bun Buni Top is mostly gentle, it involves a significant altitude gain of over 1,100 meters, which requires good cardiovascular fitness. The descent from Bun Buni on the second day is steep and can be demanding on the knees. No technical climbing is required, but stamina is essential.
