About this tour

About Leh Nubra Pangong Hanley Umling La Tour

Leh

Leh is 12,000 feet above sea level, surrounded by endless mountains. Decorated with snow on the top of the hill. Therefore, the air here is skinny and freezing. Anyone who thinks they might have altitude sickness should take care of themselves and manage themselves well. Leh is also called Little Tibet. Because here, there is a mixture of Tibetan culture. And there are many different nationalities. Whether it’s Tibetan, Indian, or white Pakistani guests, some people look Chinese. The people here are not as much like Indians as we thought.

You can choose to visit Leh according to your condition and desired atmosphere. If you want to see the colour green, travel between June and August. Suppose you want to see the golden colour of Leh from October to November. But if you choose whatever cold white colour, go from December to April.

Nubra Valley

Nubra Valley – Nubra Valley, or sometimes locals write on the signs as Nubra Valley – Nubra Valley (the latter name makes you feel a bit scared), is a destination that tourists who love the mountain atmosphere should not miss. The intricate mountain landscape, like Everest, with the Shyok River flowing through it, creates a unique landscape that is not easily found in other regions.   Nubra Valley is part of the Silk Road, located in the northeast of Ladakh, 120 kilometres away from the central city of Leh. The center is Disket. The majority of the population is Tibetan. Because the road is steep and in poor condition, potholes and rockslides often block it. There are many places where the road is so tiny and narrow that cars can barely pass each other. The distance that should take only 2 hours by car has become 5-6 hours.

Umling La

UmlingLa is a mountain pass located in the Ladakh region of India that is 17,000 feet tall. It is one of the highest motorable passes in the world and is an important trade route between India and Tibet. The route provides spectacular views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks and is a popular destination for trekkers and mountaineers. UmlingLa is integral to the ancient Silk Road trading route, linking India with Tibet. The pass has been in use since the 16th century and has been used by traders, pilgrims, soldiers, and spies. The pass is home to several Buddhist monasteries, temples, and wildlife. The road to UmlingLa is challenging and requires good fitness and stamina. The pass is often closed during winter due to snowfall, although it can be opened in the summer. The region’s locals believe the past is home to supernatural beings, including ghosts and spirits. UmlingLa is also a hotspot for natural and cultural heritage and is home to various rare flora and fauna. The pass is known for its breathtaking views of the Himalayas and is considered one of the most beautiful places in the world. UmlingLa is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to explore the beauty of the Himalayas. UmlingLa is a great place to explore the rich cultural heritage of Ladakh and get a glimpse into the lives of its people. So, if you’re looking for an adventure, UmlingLa is the perfect place to visit.

Main Key Attractions in Leh Nubra Pangong Hanley UmlingLa Tour

Hunder Sand Dunes

Hunder Dune is located in the Nubra Valley, the warmest part of Leh. It is about 4 hours from Leh city. The area is made up of smooth, fine sand. Surrounded by high mountains, Let’s look for camels in the desert. There are camels to ride so you can admire the broad desert view. There are high mountains and temples in the background.

Diskit Gompa

Diskit Gompa, or Diskit Monastery, is the largest and oldest Monastery in the Nubra Valley. It is a Kelukpa sect temple. (Yellow Hat Sect) A prominent point is a statue of Phra Sri Ariya Maitreya. Or as the Tibetans call it ‘Champa’, the large one stands majestically in the middle of a beautiful hill. It is a Tibetan temple architecture on the edge of a cliff. Inside, we can see ancient murals.

Khardungla pass

Khardungla Pass is a pass or road that vehicles can pass through. The highest point in the world, 8,380 feet or 5,620 meters above sea level. But now there is the latest information saying that it is no longer the highest in the world. It is second only to Mana La on the Tibetan border. The air up here is frigid, and oxygen is thin. It should be here briefly. If you have an allergic reaction to high altitudes, you should hurry down from this point. It will be so tiring that you can hardly breathe. Being able to conquer and stand at a height of 5,000 was terrific.

Pangong Lake

Pangong Lake is approximately 125 kilometres from Leh City. A permit is required to enter the area. It’s a saltwater lake, but it’s not highly salty. It is 130 kilometres long. 30% of the lake’s location is in India, and the other 70% is in China. It is at an altitude of approximately 4,300 meters above sea level.

The lake water is turquoise and blue, spreading shades according to the sun’s temperature. Tall mountains surround it. When the sky is open, it is terrific. The blue sky contrasts with the beautiful colour of the water, typical of Leh. You should sleep here for a while. For one night you can enjoy the lake at any time: every shade, morning, afternoon, evening, dusk, and late at night. Enjoy it to the utmost.

Changla Pass

Changla passes another high point road with a height of 17,688 feet or more than 5,320 meters above sea level. It will already be a route passing through Pangong Lake.

Shanti Stupa

Shanti Stupa Peace Pagoda is a large white pagoda about 2 kilometres from Leh city. It was created in 1991 by a Japanese Buddhist monk, Gyomyo Nakamura, to preach religion and demonstrate world peace. Located on top of a mountain, it offers a 360-degree view of Leh city from above.

Thikse Monastery

Thikse Monastery is known as the Little Potala of Leh. It is similar to the Potala Temple in Tibet. The largest Buddha image of Sri Aryametrai in Ladakh is housed here. It was built to commemorate the visit of His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama. It is a very beautiful temple. The temple also has a guesthouse for those interested in practising Dhamma.

Hemis Monastery

Hemis Monastery Hemis Monastery is a 450-year-old Red Hat Tibetan monastery. It is the richest and largest monastery in Ladakh. There are ancient objects that can be preserved. Although Ladakh has been through many wars, Hemis Temple lies in a mysterious valley that was difficult to find in the past. Therefore, various ancient objects can be preserved. The temple was not destroyed and is still beautiful. Here, the biggest mask dance celebration is held every year.

Tsomoriri Lake

Tsomoriri Lake is a 4,522-meter-high lake, slightly higher than Pangong Lake. It’s smaller but calmer and less crowded. Therefore, it will be a little popular because he was hit by Pangong Lake first. But here, it is just as beautiful. The atmosphere is perfect. The lake is blue and blue. The backdrop is snowy mountains. And it contrasts with the clear blue sky. Oh, it’s so beautiful. Please include it in your travel plans if you have enough time.

Tsokar Lake

Tsokar Lake, a salt lake on the way to Tsomoriri Lake, was a pleasant surprise. When I saw it, I was immediately mesmerised by the parking lot. White colour of salt In the background, the snowy mountains are reflected in the water. There is a little bit of grass, so beautiful and heartbreaking.

Taglang La Pass

Taglang La Pass, or Tanglang La Pass, is a road that is approximately 17,582 feet or 5,360 meters above sea level on the way to Tsomoriri Lake. You must stop by anyway. But if you have high allergies, don’t stay here long. Hurry up, and your symptoms will improve.

Magnetic Hill

Magnetic Hill is a miracle of nature. If you park your car at the designated spot and turn off the engine, you will see that the vehicle can climb up the mountain by itself. It was an illusion. The road was going downhill, but the view we saw looked like it was going up a mountain, so it was named Magnetic Hill.

Sangam Viewpoint

Sangam Viewpoint is the meeting point of the Indus and Zanskar rivers, formed by snow melting. At the intersection, you will see the difference in the river’s colour, which is two tones mixed. When we went, the colours were not as beautiful as they saw. When you look at it, it will be a little cloudy. It must be a green-blue colour combined with a milky blue-green colour, creating an unusual image that is visible.

Basgo Gompa

Basgo Gompa is built of sandstone. It sits high on a hill and is among the 100 World Heritage Sites most at risk of decay. It was built in the style of a fortress and a castle. The fortress building was constructed at the top of the mountain. This is the best position to spy on intruders.

Likir Monastery

Likir Monastery is located on a small hill not too far from Leh. It is approximately 954 years old. Inside the temple, there are still lamas studying Dhamma. The distinctive feature of this place is that a golden Buddha image, 25 meters high, is enshrined.

Lama yuru Gompa (Moon Land)

Lamayuru, known as Moon Land, is renowned for its striking lunar-like terrain reminiscent of the moon’s surface. This unique landscape, located on the way to Lama Yuru, offers an excellent spot for photography. The gompa is one of Leh’s oldest temples, established nearly a thousand years ago. Its historical significance and the deep faith of Tibetan Buddhists, who visit to pay homage, add to its magical aura. Surrounded by majestic mountains and picturesque nature, Lama Yuru Gompa is a captivating destination with both cultural and scenic allure.
